Do You Know These Types of Plastic Moulds?

Plastic moulds are tools that match with the plastic industry and plastic molding machines. They produce products with complete structures and accurate dimensions. According to different moulding methods, they can be divided into different types of moulds.

Injection molds for plastic mold manufacturing

It is mainly a kind of forming mould, which is widely used in the production of thermoplastic parts. Plastic machine is used for processing injection molds. First, the plastic is hot melted in a heating cylinder at the bottom of the plastic machine, then pushed by the screws or plungers of the plastic machine, through the plastic machine nozzle and the pouring system of the mold into the mold cavity, the plastic cools and hardens, obtaining goods from the mold. Firstly, the plastics are melted in the heating cylinder at the bottom of the plastic machine. Then, under the push of the screw or plunger of the plastic machine, they enter the mold cavity through the pouring system of the plastic machine and the mold. Finally, the plastics are cooled and hardened, and the finished products are obtained from the mold.

The structure of the injection molds generally consists of molding components, pouring systems, guiding components, introduction mechanisms, temperature control systems, emission systems, support components, and other components. The manufacturing and selection of plastic mold steel. Injection molding method is generally only suitable for the production of thermoplastic products. The plastic products produced by injection mold molding technology are very common, from daily necessities to various complex electronics and automobile parts. Choosing injection molding molds is a widely used processing method in the production of plastic products.

Blow molding for plastic mold manufacturing

This type of molds are used for shaping plastic containers of hollow products (such as beverage bottles, daily chemical products, etc.).According to the process principle, blow molding methods mainly include extrusion blow molding hollow forming. According to the process principle, injection molding methods mainly include extrusion blow molding, injection blow molding, injection extension blow molding (usually called injection blow molding), multi-layer blow molding, plate blow molding, etc. Corresponding equipment for hollow product blow molding is generally called a plastic blow molding machine, which is only suitable for the production of thermoplastic products. The structure of the blow mold is relatively simple, and the materials used are mostly carbon.

Extrusion molds for plastic mold manufacturing

It is a mold used for shaping and producing continuous plastic products. It is also called an extrusion molding machine head, which is widely used in processing pipes, rods, monofilaments, sheets, films, cables, wires, etc.

The corresponding production equipment is a plastic extruder, and its principle is to melt solid plastics under heating and pressure of the extruder, and make continuous plastic products with the same cross-sectional and cavity shapes through a specific shape of a cavity mold. The materials for plastic mold manufacturing mainly include carbon structural steel, alloy tools, etc., and some extrusion molds will be embedded with wear-resistant materials such as gold and stone. The extrusion process is generally only suitable for the production of thermosetting plastic products, and its structure is distinctly different from injection molds and compression molds.

Blow molds for plastic mold manufacturing

Blow molds are made of plastic plates and boards, which are used to produce some simple molds for plastic products. Its principle is to use vacuum opening method or compressed air molding method, and under the premise of heating and softening, the plastic plate fixed in the cavity or punch is deformed and stuck on the cavity to obtain the required molded goods, which are mainly used to produce some daily necessities, food and toy packaging goods. Because the pressure of the plastic suction mold is low, the mold material is mostly aluminum casting or non-metallic material, and the structure is relatively simple.

Compression molds for plastic mold manufacturing

There are two types of structural compression molds:  compression molding and pressure molding. They are mainly used for molding thermosetting plastics, and the corresponding equipment is a pressure molding machine.

According to the characteristics of plastic, the mold is heated to the molding temperature, then the measured plastic powder is put into the mold cavity and the feeding chamber, and the mold is closed, so that the plastic becomes soft and viscous under high temperature and high pressure, and after a certain period of time, it is solidified and molded into the shape of the required commodity.

The difference between pressure injection molding and compression molding is that the former has no separate feeding chamber. Before molding, the mold is first closed and the plastic in the feed chamber is preheated to make it flow viscously. Under pressure, it is adjusted and extruded into the mold cavity to harden and form. Compression molds mainly consist of mold cavities, feed cavities, guiding mechanisms, push-out components, heating systems, etc. Compression molding is usually used in the packaging of electrical components. The materials used for compression mold manufacturing are similar to those used for injection molding.
