Quality Control of Plastic Garbage Bin Moulds

Requirements for making plastic garbage bin moulds are high. Environmental-friendly PP materials are generally used for producing molds, which can create a shiny surface and then be processed with film and printing to become a high-end garbage bin. However, it is not easy to make a good garbage bin. First of all, the quality of the mould needs to be controlled, including mould design, mould assembly, and the selection of hot runners and cold runners. As the saying goes, outsiders look on with interest, while insiders look on with insight. How can we better control the problems that may arise during the processing of plastic garbage can molds?

1. Assembly of garbage bin moulds

Assembling molds is similar to assembling machines. Every component and screw must be installed correctly, or serious consequences may arise. The consequences could range from product defects and production disruptions to a complete loss of the mold. Therefore, the assembly process must be very meticulous. During assembly, it is particularly important to pay attention to the cleanliness of the mould, especially the waterway and screw holes. Iron chips inside must be thoroughly blown away, or customers will be very dissatisfied and the consequences will also be serious.

2. Choice between hot runners and cold runners for garbage bin moulds

Actually, the use of hot runners or cold runners has the smallest impact on the quality of garbage bin moulds, as the hot runners are generally specified by well-known brands, especially to large customers. Well-known foreign brands provide high-quality products and services. Therefore, there will generally be no major quality issues. The quality of some hot runner brands may vary greatly. Some small companies, in order to save costs and gain price advantages, may use unreliable heating and conduction parts, which may lead to problems. The main problem with cold runners is how to ensure injection molding balance, gate size, and injection pressure.

3. Cooling water pathways of garbage bin moulds

People with mould processing experience know how important it is for a mold to be cooled efficiently. Due to the growth of raw materials and labor costs, every second saved during mass production brings unimaginable profits. However, speeding up the production cycle will cause the mold temperature to rise. If it is not effectively controlled, the mould will not be able to be formed due to excessive heat, and even cause mould deformation, failure, and scrapping. Therefore, excellent waterway design is particularly important, including the density and diameter of waterways.

4. Maintenance of garbage bin moulds

Mould maintenance mainly involves maintenance and care during the production process. Moulds, like cars, may become scrapped if they are not used for a long time and not maintained properly. Therefore, comprehensive maintenance must be carried out after each use of the mold, especially rust prevention on the molding part and the main moving parts. Since garbage bin moulds need to come into contact with water during the production process, water may get onto the mould during installation or disassembly. Therefore, it is necessary to ensure that the mould is dry and then apply a layer of oil for protection.
